At the Bougainvillea Clinique, we offer enhanced fat grafting procedures for both cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries. Fat grafting has many unique advantages in plastic surgery, allowing you to naturally enhance your appearance without the need for more invasive devices and methods.
Our Fat Grafting Technology
We use numerous general liposuction fat harvesting techniques depending on your needs, including the TickleLipo, Body-Jet® (similar to Aqualipo®) and CytoriPureGraft® systems to harvest and prepare the fat graft for each procedure. Our process uses the gentlest possible method of separating injectable fat, something that is critical to the survival of fat grafts.
Studies show that fat grafts obtained using the PureGraft® method produce a higher percentage of pure, living fat, without any unwanted additions. The blood and water are simply absorbed into the body, and are not needed to contribute to the fat graft’s survival. This approach also minimizes side effects like swelling.
Using Fat Grafting in Plastic Surgery
As a natural filler, fat grafting can be used in a number of ways, such as:
- Facial rejuvenation
- Breast augmentation
- Breast reconstruction
- Improving skin quality (when injected beneath the skin)
- Improving wrinkles, such as crow’s feet
- Treatment of acne scars
- Improving the appearance of aging hands
Enriched Fat Grafting
Although traditional fat grafting includes stem cells that are naturally found within grafted fat, Dr. Hartog is able to process fat in a way that concentrates these stem and regenerative cells to create an enriched graft. Studies show that the use of enriched fat grafts may improve the survival and overall quality of the fat grafts.
These benefits may be particularly important in breast reconstruction, in patients who have had radiation therapy. In addition, Enriched fat grafts can also be used alone or with facial fillers to improve the volume and the quality of the tissues and overlying skin.
