Women considering their options for breast augmentation have a lot of implant types to choose from. A the Bougainvillea Clinique, we provide a wide selection of implant types to help patients in finding the one most appropriate for their budget, needs, and goals. One of the newest implants on the market is that of the Sientra breast implants.
What is the Sientra breast implant?
There are many varieties of breast implants for women to consider when they are seeking a solution to achieve larger breasts. Sientra breast implants, or “cohesive gel implants,” are cleared and approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. They are different from other implants, such as saline or silicone, in that they have a gel that is inside of an outer shell that is form-stable, allowing them to hold their shape over time. In addition, this provides for a more natural feel and look, and a reduced risk of rupture.
Another benefit of the Sientra breast implants is that they come in different shapes and sizes. When working with a plastic surgeon to choose an implant appropriate for your needs, Dr. Jeffrey Hartog and his team can select the one right for you. There are three different base shapes available, including:
- Round base
- Oval base
- Classic base
The way the implant is placed and the patient’s current breast size will determine which base is chosen. Then, the size is discussed. Many women go a size or two up for a natural look and aesthetic balance and harmony with the rest of their body.
