I am just putting the finishing touches on my presentation next Friday in Rome, at the 1st Annual Meeting of the International Society of Plastic Regenerative Surgery (ISPRES). I am honored that I will be on the podium with a who’s who of fat grafting and the emerging specialty of regenerative plastic surgery and regenerative aesthetics, including Sydney Coleman and Roger Khouri. My presentation is titled Cryopreserved Fat Grafting in Clinical Practice, and will describe my experience with using cryopreserved or frozen fat over the last year. With the first clinic based FDA registered Liquid Gold lipobank in the US, I have had the opportunity to put the science into clinical practice for my patients. Our experience to date reveals that frozen fat grafts appear to survive to a similar degree as do fresh fat grafts, with successful results now in the face, breast and hands and as a component of my Valulift facelift procedure. Patients tolerate the procedure extremely well, now allowing me to perform fat grafts with only local anaesthetic, just like many of the other off-the-shelf injectable products like Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra. Of course there is the added advantage that the fat is your own completely natural filler, and actually works out to be much more cost effective than any of the available commercial fillers.
Time to pack.
